Just because khakis can be pruned to make Bermuda shorts does not mean all garments lend themselves to a mini format. Some classics are designed never to be minis. The most important thing about the saree is its grace. This is a weird cross between a lehnga and a saree, with neither of the pluses. What's next? "mini" bridal dresses?

Why only villages? In big cities, s w e e p e r women also wear their saris like this.
But nobody accuses them of being fashionable.
The moral of the story is - if you do this as a part of a show which trying like h e l l to imitate such shows in the West, you are cool and sophisticated but otherwise a lowly s w e e p e r !!

How village women wears is totally different. This is exploiting ... village women are traditional. Half Sari does not go good for CATWALKS.
