Why cant you all appreciate a working culture that pays you well..again with some disadvanatge. For once lets focus on development and contribution and not crib about some small things. BPO is GOOD...I dont care who says what...if we didnt have a BPO job...we would have been cutting bread at a bakery shop and would have never known what PF is.
I worked for BPO industry for over 8 years. It was a mixed bag benefits working for this outsource-dependent industry.
From salary point of view, it was better than Indian companies. But coming to work culture, it is more of a showoff. Managers, AVPs & VPs at higher level just get paid for doing nothing. Appraisals are totally-biased & only favorites are promoted to next level.
We got jobs here just because onshore jobs were transferred here for peanuts cost. Unemployment levels in US & Europe rising on account of this outsourced jobs. Move by Ohio is just the beginning, all others will follow the suit & these mushroom-like grown BPOs will have to shut their shops soon.

You worked for a BPO and earned good salary for 8 years. Then why you blame them. Please understand it is also a kind of job available in job market. Your managers, AVPs and VPs are held responsible for the least mistake you do. I have contacts with many senior ppl of BPOs and know very well that how much they are grilled by management on quality, delivery and commitment.

BPO is a sweet poision dear i worked in BPO for 4 years but after leavinf BPO no one is ready to give me a job boss

hahahah, Individual experience. Completly depends upon your luck the type of Managers you work with. I am working In bpo from last 23 months and found favoritism is there and where it is not. You just do hard work and try to escalate if found any favoritism going on to the Main boos( COH or Tower head ), you might get a positive feedback and honestly speaking I have done it and t worked and I have been promoted in next 1 month. SO it worked for me .
1.) First Source Solutions & Icici OneSource are the same company. Icici OneSource was renamed as First Source Solutions. 2.) Infosys BPO is better known as Progeon. 3.) HTMT Global & Hinduja Global again is the name of same company. 4.) GENPACT is not longer a desired company on any platform. Dont know how this rating was made.
