True, Very True, We need to live simple, after all we need one shelter, owned-rented, whatever; we need cloths, not necessary it is branded, now a days Khadi is also expensive; we need two full meal (400gm-500gm per meal) simple not necessary we eat daily, sweets and spicy food or go to Restaurant and Mall, Live Simple near to nature and earn simpl. We we were born we were not bothered about what we will "BE", our greed and selfishness has made us to run behind, what we will "BE" in future, even after 5yrs or even after a year. :) if we do YOGA or excercise or not, we are gonn to live the life span given by destiny. Earlier people were so simple and their need was so less that is why they used to live long with hard work, values and simplicity.

Give up the advanced lifestyle, live simple, minimalist life, close to nature.

On one hand these great good health practitioners recommend yoging, pilating, gymming and what not, however none of them go to root cause for all these discomforts in life and that is greed, wanting things beyond ones needs and getting things before others do. The sense of sharing or giving is non existent, interdependent man wants to live indepenedently which is in direct conflict with the creation, correct the fundamental flaws.

Unfortunately the western capitalism encourges selfishness and self before others. Technological advances aside, the western civilization has failed miserably on human well being.

Its not the west that has failed but the east. East has failed to live up to the challenges of west.

However I love n enjoy the western espresso.

Yoga, like many other old traditions, is one of the most misunderstood concept.

The word yogasana implies asana (posture) for yoga. So asana is not the be all and end all of the practice of yogasanas.

What is the meaning of yoga? It means a connection, a link - of the self (the practitioner of yoga) with the Supreme Being (the source of all life).

The original intention of various yogasanas was that while adopting certain postures, the flow of blood and hence oxygen to certain parts of the body will be increased, enabling the process of removal of dead cells and improving the health of the practitioner, helping him to focus on the link (of Self with the Supreme), since it is widely accepted that a sound mind and sound body go together.

However, over a period of time, the ritual or fancy of the asanas has remained, while the purpose, object of achieving yoga (connection) has sadly been totally forgotten.

I pity people obsessed with physical health, fancy dress, tasty food, flashy possessions like house or car, "influential" friends or company etc. to the exclusion of connection with the Supreme.
