Indian lifestyle is changing... but for the worst. With economy \"blooming\" for the privilged, loans available at door steps, cars that cost less than a lac with 2k EMI, etc etc and corruption at its nadir (or peak??), what else can be expected?? For someone who used to squat on the floor and eat a meal, it is now a matter of \"prestige\" to eat at junk food outlets (I smile). With more such people, India can at least hope for a decent economy, what with people dying early bcos of heart-related diseases, renal problems bcos of excessive \"socializing\", and the list goes on. Vaj(payee) extensions probably get diminished, so to speak. Youngsters: All the best; we Gen (so-called Y) are happier than ever!

The trouble with some these foods are they can add up to astronomical amount of calories before filling up your stomach.A plate of samosa is 600 cal. In a day one can consume only 1800 cal with sedentary to moderate life style. If we are not careful it is very easy to consume 3000 cal a day.
The lesson I learnt from my grandfather - Eat whatever you want, but have the right amount of physical activity to burn it away. Farmers from native village eat as much they want and whatever they want. But I have never seen a single obese person and they all live up to the 80s and 90s. If you want to eat the food prescribed by the so-called nutritionists, you will start hating food!!!

farmers eat? I thought they are starving in INdia. You just cant gobble up 10 Gulab jamuns and a pizza pie a day and expect to be very healthy. Use some common sense. Not every body has time to burn out what they ate unless one is a manual labourer.
