The Chilean miners won a life battle: Have you?
Who are you asking this question Rediff.
You can't compare a national event with and individual.
ask the same question to the government of india who let boreholes to be drilled and then left uncapped.
Ask the same question to Indian rescue teams who fail to get fallen and traped childern out.
Ask the national rescue of India and not the individual.
People of India prefom miracles everyday and on every step they take.
IT IS THE GOVERNMENT WHO FAILS TO PREFORM SUCH FEATS AS THE CHILIANS HAVE DONE.

Rediff is right in asking this. It is one of the most important event of the world, where mankind can draw inspirations during a testing time

dear sheetal kaur,
pleasse do not talk like an idiot without knowing anything.almost all the children fallen in the bore well have been saved.please go through the old newspapers.however i admit that it is matter of regret that people who dig the borewells do not cover it.we have also handled very big crisis in india.do not forget uttara kahand and gujrat earthquake and the tsunami.first read something understand something and then make your blabbering here.if you do not know anything then visit a news paper office and through the old editions and then speak something.do not behave and comment like a ms.know all.

i also cogratulate the chilean government to go all out to save the lives of the miners.i also wish a very long and peaceful future life to all the affected persons and their families.

It is an exalting emotion. Thanks to the US NASA and the two american companies which precisely designed the capsule to uplift these mine workers from the valley of death. It is an act of bravery for those team which were involved in this rescue operations.

It is the indomitable spirit and faith of these mine workers that braved those 69 days in hell. The unity shown by the mankind all over the world especially the people of chile is awesome and inspiring

It also reminds me about the 50 hrs rescue operation of the child 'Prince' from a borewell at Haryana by our Indian Army.

and it also reminds us of numerous borewells and manholes dug up and left uncovered in India.. where innocent children fall and die without being rescued

Congrats to the Govt of Chile. They have sown that they care for their citizens.

One can just wonder what would have happened, should such a situation have occurred in India.

Miners would have been allowed to die. It would have become another election issue. So many deaths of children have occured in open bore wells. No body bothers.

JAYAR.

Well executed rescue plan
by vaidyanathapuram anantharaman on Oct 14, 2010 08:57 PM

It gives us immense happiness to hear that the Govt. of Chile with the help of dedicated people done a marvellous thing of giving back a second life to 33 miners. Nothing can be more joyous to them and their famalies and nation. I salute the brave hearts who had spent considerable time inside the mine without losing hope and for the people who planned and rescued them. This is another best short film for showning in National geographic channel
