Many of the MBA colleges were started with the aim of utilising the available infrastructure [in many cases these are already established engineering colleges]. Hence, the main idea is to make profit as far as possible. The cost cutting is revealed by the presence of good faculty. They won't get good faculties by paying peanuts [Remember:"If one pays peanuts, only monkeys will be available". There is huge gap between the MBA graduates & employability - as demanded by the industry.
We have only few Top-B schools that can offer proper exposure in their curriculm.I honestly feel that the level of gap between engineer degree and industry is less compared to the MBA Gap.Now a days every XYZ college have started giving management degree which should be stopped by centre.Even getting a degree is tougher than MBA.I have seen around 200 colleges offering management degree in bangalore. This year another 100 colleges have come up.I think the criterion for doing MBA should be changed by giving more chance to deserving candidates from their workplace with some idea rather than giving a degree to a fresher.

evening classes for those already in service and special lectures by those senior in service could be beneficial to industry and mgmt schools.
People used to think MBA is short route for going ladder up without spending enough time from technical perspective.Every field has technical aspect to it. These MBAs have come and started bossing technical people without knowing technical/practical difficulties.Their aim always to increase sales and get their commission apart from salary. But they did not bother about how after sales is functioning. Now it is the time to think every problem in any organisation from the scientific/technical perspective not from the managerial point of view.Hope institutes who are offering think about this and MBA grads too.

You are right as MBA fresher cannot control technical people. So technical degree with mangement degree is essential in such places and now a days even mnc's have that criteria for applying. I think its a good progress .

In India, MBA education is mostly about placements. MBA institutes are placement agencies, no placement, no study, no education. People look for reasons to not work hard.
Core thing is the belief that problems can be managed and solved, situation can be improved and innovation is a way of life. Many do not try to understand this. without such beliefs management education is useless.
There is a lot of thought gaps about the MBA education. At one extreme it is shown as an entry to a glamor world on the other hand it is about door to door selling. MBA education is suffering lack of credibility among the public.
Managers and management are about hard work. Correct and realistic perspective should be encouraged.
