DHANBAD
by Vellaichamy V on Nov 23, 2010 10:40 PM

We were shaken from our slumber and bundled out to Dhanbad by the then Coal Minister Shanawaz Hussain in 2001. It is to nurture the ailing BCCL.I was posted in Katras and provided accommodation in Sijua.
Life was gloomy all around. These local people live such miserable life in a place blessed with so much of wealth.
Stressful lifestyle that I lead here practically took my life.

Pray the Almighty to help these God fearing mortals come out from this wreched situation.

Tragic but true

Having spent all of my childhood & teenage in the coal belt I can attest to what Rupa said. In fact, a significant portion of the coal produced by Coal India in that region gets pilfered. You can see hundreds of folks going long distances with coal on cycles, etc. When it was Bihar, these folks thought that after Jharkhand separates, the area would develop. Unfortunately, the only people who developed from Jharkhand separating from Bihar are the local politicians. Crime is very high, job opportunities are non-existent, education is criminalized. In fact lot of parents out there feel that cheating in an exam is a right. God help Jharkhand.

Keep up the tempo

Dear Bharat,
Keep up the tempo and write articles like these much more. India may be shining, but there is another dark India within.
You have kept the IRFCA flag high.
