1) First of all, the article is completely original. I've not copied/plagiarised from any other. The only thing I've looked up is component prices. Anyone claiming I've lifted this from other online sources, please share the links. 2) I wrote this article keeping in mind Indian sensibilities, & that includes availability of brands, prices & after-sales & service support. Of course I wud've loved to include memories from Corsair, GSkill, OCZ, Crucial with CAS 7/8/9 & 1333MHz speeds; or cases from Antec, Silverstone; power supplies from Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, etc; but these are irrelevant in India, since you can hardly find them anyway. The ones which you can find differ wildly in availability from place to place. So its impossible to pinpoint components & there's no choice but to just recommend a good quality piece available with the local retailer. 3) The article is intended for beginners; actually its header should read "Beginner's guide to Gaming PC", I don't know why rediff changed it to "low cost gaming pc". So yeah, it's intended for beginners, laymen who need a basic guide. So there's no reason to include stuff like number of 12v rails, railing amperage, PFCs, capacitor aging. It doesn't matter to them whether the 512 MB Vram is DDR, DDR2, DDR3 or DDR5. FYI, the 8400gs came out 3 years ago & was a great card in it's

the article is copied from online sources coz brands like fsp, antec, enermax are really difficult to find here... getting high end processors and using cheap memories like transcend 1066mhz (god knows what latency) is like putting the processor to shame. the concept of the author that any gaming system requires minimum 512mb of VRAM is totally wrong... get ur basics right dude.... even a crap card like 8400gs has 512mb of memory... so u say that it qualifies for a gaming rig??? ..... lol just mentioning 400/450/600 w PSU doesnt make it clear which ones to use... single/dual/quad 12v rails, efficiency, active/passive PFC... where are all these concepts??? and u think u can cramp that 60k rig in a CM elite.... lol..id rather have a microwave oven at home... newaz epic fail article... learn more dude!!!

hi - your comments present a diametrically opposite viewpoint. i am intending to go for a PC (i5/i7 or the AMD equivalent). could you state what then should be the best configuration?
The article is very very impressive. Actually, what I liked here is that concepts are explained in the very simplest of manner for the masses to understand. And also that the writer has emphasized on all three categories of buyers. Articles like this should be more common. Impressive...
