Public smoking
by commonman on Dec 03, 2010 07:20 PM

Public smoking is not being monitored and penalised. Penalise Rs.500 per instance. Give the responsbility to Police and other ex-military security personnel / agencies

try to replace smoking with stuff like Chewing gums and candies.. It will at least help to lower it a bit even if you are not able to get rid of it completely.

Thanx

I Quit
by Lallu LaptopWale on Nov 20, 2010 05:57 PM

I was a chain smokers for 10-15 years, i love to smoke while driving ,or with Tea, after lunch, etc. after marriage my wife tried to convince me to quit cigarette but partially failed. although i always felt bad that i am spending huge amount on cigarette every day, some time one packet, sometimes two packet.three years before i changed my job, on the very first day my boss came to my desk and tried to explain me something but suddenly he went back and said " DO U SMOKE", ? , I said yes, then he did not say anything, and returned to his cabin, and then start sending the files with note instead of either calling me to his cabin or coming himself to me, then my colleagues told me that he hates smoking smell, and he avoid people who smokes. of course since Job was my prime importance, believe me from that day itself i quit smoke, i avoid meeting to all those who smoke so that i will not smoke again, thank God its been three years now i quit cigarette. what i suggest to all those who want to quit cigarette, that don't minimize the quantity, if u want to quit, then quit it at once, i quit the cigarette because i knew if i don't quit then i will have to leave my Job, which was difficult for me since i was newly married. so take the motivation of any kind and then quit, nothing is impossible in this world.

How to quit smoking
by Sheetal Kaur on Nov 15, 2010 07:39 PM

It is very easily said that one should stop smoking, addiction of any kind is very difficult to get rid of.
I am addicted to coffee and it must be freshly brewed and not instant.
One can only stop either with a shock or with great will power.
I had tow friend (Both now departed to heavens),
One was smoker and one was a drinker.
one day we were sitting and he wanted to smoke and we just asked asked him how much he smoked and the answer 40 a day, we calculated the cost over the year and it cam to nearly a 1000 pound and not to mention damage to his health he was shocked from that day he never smoked and he lasted 20 years with us before he died in a car accident.
same thing happened with the drinker he use to drink three times a day morning a beer and no tea same at lunch and same in the evening he was going to the pub when he met another guy coming from the pub all smelling and falling every where this shocked him and he said that must be the way i look when i come back from the pub he returned and never touched a glass of alcohol all his life.
this is will power.
Start by cutting of your cigarette by say 10mm and throwing it away and taking fewer puffs.
try keeping longer time between smoking by say 10 minutes.
I am sure soon you will train your body for less nicotine.
Who know that you migh stop smoking al together in a year.
It is your body and your will power only you can make it happen.
NO HELP FROM ANY ONE OR ANY THING THAT MATTERS WILL HELP IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING.

I don't think it's a big deal
by Sanjib Meitei on Nov 15, 2010 05:09 PM

I started smoking in 1997. In the begining it was just for fun and style. Gradually, I realize that I become a smoker. I used to have dry cough but still, i use to smoke. One day, somewhere at the end of 2004, when I was introspecting myself with my fav navycut in my hand, all of sudden I decided that I should quit. I quit and never ever smoke again. I don't have any dezire to take up smoking again. Many events happen in life after quiting like heartbreak, jealosy, possesiveness...(everything a common youth exeriance in life) Even in testing times also, I didn't feel the need to fall back on smoking.

Just do it. Don't think over it or promise to quit smoking.
