Wasting IIT seats & our tax
by MyNameIsKingKhan on Jul 13, 2010 07:27 AM

Did our Govt spend our hard earned tax money on these two... so that they can design T-shirts & becomerich, onceagain by looting the tax payers at malls?? If they did that for a hobby it was ok..but full time? IITians r supposed to do some core research or develop technologies by applying all the knowledge n skills they'v acquired. They should have invested their knowledge & efforts in doing something that would bebifit our country n world at large. Agreed..one must do what they enjoy n love to do...but then they choose to join IIT & WASTE 2 SEATS

Tragedy

In india one person with no education makes refrigerator which requires no electricity and other one with IIT degree makes T shirt...both these news are available in rediff... our education was never about creativity it was always about making money and depending on others as we cant make anything...... if this was done by some less educated guys i would definitely appreciate but by IIT guys then this is disgusting

OMG I never knew T-shirt range in India was pretty much limited! So what if I got overwhelmed with the number of options when I went shopping!
I think it's great what they have finally achieved but I got only 5 words for them 'DUDE STOP TELLING RIDICULOUS STORIES'

this is the truth about IIT
by A P on Jun 01, 2010 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

Its just a status symbol. while I am not denying their efforts, but IITians are supposed to do much more than designing and selling T shirts. The only difference in these 2 guys and an ordinary salesman is that they have an IIT degree . Sometime back i read about a fellow, who after passing from IIT became a photographer. It seems IITians do everything except what they are supposed to do.

What IITians / Engineers are supposed to do?
why is it that Engineers are always looked upon as some one who builds things or some one who repairs things??
Engineering teaches students concepts but more importantly it teaches the art of applying the concepts / logics to un common scenarios. I dunno what is the fuss here..
Any enterprise engaging in wealth creation while growing is always cherished. Would everyone have liked if the IITians had completed their degrees and gone abroad for fatter paychecks??

by salesjb on Jun 01, 2010 10:48 AM  | Hide replies

One was worked with HLL and another worked with supply chain of a garment company.
Government should take all money from them that india invested on them in their iit degree.

I dont think so that they are COPYCAT.. They WAS copy cat when they stole the Idea of other companies by designing tshirts.. but Today that website sells jewellery, Scarfs, Flipflops and manymore which you'll not find on any tshirt designing website. Tell me one website. Dont take example of US and some Big companies coz then I'll show you some big companies who did the same thing and might be you are working with one of them...

Common idea- So what..Really!
by smita george on May 31, 2010 02:56 PM

Even if the idea wasnt new but still to get it all right in a different market n making money as well is good enough!! In the Indian market there werent any big players in this segment..So i wud say there was a gap and they identified it..And its not easy leaving ur secure jobs and starting something on ur own..Cheers to them..bcoz on top of it they are getting paid for doing what they enjoy doing unlike most of us..
