IIT JEE may not be tough...
by anwar mirza on May 27, 2010 09:25 AM

Only competetion is tough as the no. of aspirants are far more than the seats available.

It happens only in India...

If Kalam had gone to IIT
by Vivek Dev on May 27, 2010 09:24 AM

Would Kalam had become an engineer/scientist if he had gone to IIT? He would have probably become a merchant banker, marketing guru or HR professional. IITs have nothing to do with science and technology.

whether IIT or no IIT, it is a known fact that south Indians followed by maharashtrian/Gujjus are more intelligent than useless northys .
This hype & obsession of IIT also in north only as they don't have any other option. People even try for 3-4 attempts.
Same is not true with south india/mumbai where lots of other intelligent opportunities are there.
Still south/west accounts for max no of IIT 2010 (almost 80%) even though no. of students appearing for test from south/west zone is much lower than north & east zones.
Congrats reddy for your achievement.

Unfortunately, your dream will never come true.

Karelites support each other based on whether the other person speaks Malayalam.

Bangalees support each other very much.

Tamils support people speaking Tamil...Remember the covert support to LTTE.

Kannadigas like people who speak Kannada...ie Malle Gowda, Channe Dowda and Deve Gowda

And so on...

The only people who do not support each other are Maharashtrians.

Congrats
by Anniyan Dharma on May 27, 2010 09:19 AM

Congrats to Anumula.
I hope India has higher centers of Science where not only IIT but also other folks are geared towards higher studies.

It would be a shame if Anumula were to go to MIT or Stanford for his PhD, just because we dont offer a good curriculum followed by a great job after that.

We need to develop scientific Research institutes (not just 1 IISC) and get private-public partnership going.

We have enough talent in India, we just dont use them well. We have our back offices running well. We have proved to the world we can execute at the lower levels. Our high level execution in Innovation is just not there. We need to spur that....

We need at least one of our institutions to do what Stanford did for the bay area...
