Hey Akanksha, We already knew about when you topped the Physics Olympiad, where incidently my nephew Abhinav Deshpande ranked no. 7. He stands 54 in all-India IIT JEE ranking. You are a rare combo of beauty and brains. You make every Indian girl proud, my dear! KEEP IT UP! all the best.
I am sure she had made up her mind. But i feel that she should look at the option in ISRO based education. People who have good interest in Physics is good and important for India to encourage them with best effort. Let her not go to conventional old IITs but she should look at the option of getting education ISRO based space university.

Sound advice, except for the bit about loving what you study. My experience is that it is quite possible that, initially you have an aversion towards subjects like mathematics, but when you have spent time with it and studied some of it, you start liking it more. Not everybody experiences love at first sight with subjects like maths and physics.
Aakanksha's observations are quite lucid and plain. Students, in order to excel in studies, must have a clear focus, the rest will automatically follow. Students must not fall in the rut of rat-race. They must have an open mind, and clear perception of things.
