Only those who are mentally prepared for losing their money should take the risk of company FDs. A good company today may not be the same after 3 years. If things go bad, the money is gone and no-one is there to help the investor.
Please note its 10 years have passed ie from 1999 until now , Till this date many depositors who have invested in Company have paased away without seeing their savings put in the Co deposits . Please note , RBI or Govt will never do anything even if u die , as a pauper . It has happened my dad passed away after hanging for his hard earned deposit for 10 long years without seeing his cash back
