Please explore an option of Postal MIP's. They are much safer.
Term - 5 Year Returns - 8% pa Bonous - 5% at the end of Tenure
Tip : invest monthly interest received in a Bank Recurring Deposit (RD) attracting further interests. Postal dept can transfer Mthy interest via ECS to any desired Bank A/c
I am no expert in this area, however feel, the nett returns are decent & risk free

The term, I feel, is 6 years not five. All the postoffices do not provide the ecs facility. Still this the best for the people who like to play safe and risk free.

Well even I recommend the same. I already have around 5Lac in PO MIS and I dont find any other scheme as risk free as it is and with a return of around 8%.
I want to caution all investors taken not to put their money either in MF or in share market. The market has been taken over by Satta people who are squeezing away investors money. They give any flimsy reasons for the ups and downs in the market. Value is created in the factories and not in the share market. Satta people are manufacturing money in the market by taking awat your money. See what did Goldman did by fooling people like the above article. I also lost a million by listening to such cleaver fools.

It's really a Casino for those who want to be rich overnight otherwise it's an Investors Paradise. Who guided you to gamble here. If you want to invest money for your future goals - like children's higher education, your retirement then only you should think about it orelse never think of it.
The writeup appears to be very short on information. while investing you need to pattern of investment. Like HDFc has high exposure in equity. That is always risky. So please do not take any decision only on past performence

Same thing here ... you needs brains to win money in gambling and also a lot of tricks. That's why even most experienced stock market players equate it to gambling. Manoj, you don't need to feel bad about it. After it is legal ... so gamble on and make merry. Make money while your luck shines ...

Harshad Mehta and his associates have better "brain" than you. Stock Market is the place where crooks try to collect money from ordinary people who want to become Ambanis.Enjoy while the going is good. Hard work is prohibited in India

Ramachandran, Stock market is not a place to gamble. It takes a lot of patience to make money from there. There is only one Harshad Mehta among millions of indians who have invested in share market. Patience is the key word and if don't have it you'll end up losing millions. Please read some good article before making some irrelevant comments.

if you have opted for dividend payout or disposed of the units with a gain, then there is income and you would need to show it either under 'income from other sources' or 'capital gains'
