Scientist who ushered the Indian space programme
by SardarPatel on Mar 30, 2010 04:52 AM

The mistake he made was not suspecting that he would be credited with being the sole brain behind India atomic and space research.
He made himself a legitimate western target for
his countries when he accepted a lift in Air India plane which was transporting 70 Indian military persons returning home.America and UK always looked India as its Enemy's friend and friend's enemy.
It was no accident, but which Indian cares about that?

Romila Thapar
by jack on Mar 29, 2010 11:09 PM

It is suprising that the Commie Thapar lady has been included in the list of scientific greats. She gained fame and noteriety by demeaning Indian civilization and major religion with full backing of the commies.
Infact most of the JNU teaching staff are commies

Thapar is no scientist but an ideological puppet
by triveni Y on Mar 29, 2010 09:47 PM

May god bless Sh Rao and Sh Sarabhai. Now comes Thapar. The author seems to revel in ignorance instead of critical thought. Her theories (which are plagiarized from westerners) have bitten dust and debunked but Thapar's shamelessness and bravado is still there. What could be the reason? Foisting her on the readers without researching will only lead to readers questioning your integrity.

Piece on Thapar should read like...
Revisionist and Hinduphobic, is the word that comes to mind, quite often when one thinks about Prof Thapar.

She is the opposite of what a historian should be i.e. a truth teller. Bestowing a few western awards on her will not wash away her eminent idiocy.

Disgusting
by kaushal mehta on Mar 29, 2010 05:24 PM

Disgusting of the author to put Romilla Thapar in between Sarabhai and CNR Rao. The former has done nothing to do India proud or even bothered about what direction India is taking.

Where is Satish Dhawan and others?
by Deepak Thomas on Mar 29, 2010 05:09 PM  | Hide replies

when I start reading the article titled "Scientist who ushered the Indian space programme", I thought many of the scientist will be appearing.

I am very sad that Rediff has bother to write about Prof. Satish Dhawan. This is very disgusting.

That is not the end of the story. Eminent scientists like Prof. Roddam Narasimha, Prof. Rajaramanna etc. are also missing.
