indeed an admirable person-outstanding Dalit. my doubt: If a Dalit like him can do so well academically even in 1940s/50s, then why did he advocate reservation of jobs for DAlits? I am really at loss to understand.

You can see all the great names in the presidency of our Country except the current president. did they fetch any thing to the country? They are powerless, dummy and puppets in the hands of the governments. Indian constitution is based on failed British system

Ideology in action, not just ideology.
by manoj kumar on Mar 28, 2010 02:01 AM

President job is to make sure that citizen feel safe in the house. he has military for outside attack. policing for inside job. He has to act very precisely. take action against crime very swiftly. be very elert to any upcoming warfare. If you look at india's problem. u can say that all the presidents were total waste of time. they were shame to our security. Still rural areas where majority of indian live. they shut there door in the eveneing. women cant go out at night.
It shows how much effective our president were in taking action. they were just a philosopher who created image of a nice guy. thats all.

well..greats like radhkrishna or Kalam are good inside universities or education centers..not running the country where change is required thru vision and determination to change the lives...
kalam or radhakrishna..may be great, but not in political positions...bith have not been able to bring change to masses or even small changes to one village or town..

A president is not a political position in a parliamentary democracy. Within the confines of what a president can influence, the two of them have been great change makers. A visionary president can bring a fresh air of optimism in an otherwise hopeless situation.

I and most of our generation have not had any experience of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. However, going back to NDA years, I can safely say that where ever APJ Abdul Kalam went, he created hope and gave a vision of a developed India through his Vision 2020.

What a zenith we have reached from that peak, now that we have the most uninspiring president.

his lifestyle great inspiration for all
by kari on Mar 25, 2010 12:53 PM  | Hide replies

Persuasion and Manipulation are two totally different things in my mind. Manipulation means that I use some of the different methods I know of to make you do something you never would do. For instance in church circles guilt has often worked this way in the past. You can use guilt to say make someone feel bad that they aren’t giving enough of their time to the church so they should teach sunday school or that they aren’t giving enough money and the pastor can’t get a raise or the like. However persuasion is gently guiding you down what I think may be a better path for you. For instance I might persuade you via my lifestyle that Christianity is something you might become involved in and that you want a personal relationship with the Christ I know. I don’t force this on you using tatics but persuade you via my own natural life the difference is therefore both method and motive in my mind and there definitely is a difference.

After reading the comments on the late President below, one can only sigh and say... what next, Buddha was a Manuwadi because he was mentioned in the Mahabharata as an avatar of Vishnu? And J M Keynes was a failure because the world saw another depression some 80 years after the Great Depression which he helped solve!

Buddha was not a Manuwadi. He was later added to Mahabharata as an avatar of Vishnu,to destroy Buddhism by some manuwadis.

Really Buddha was the first social reformer of India and First socialist of the world.

Dont be so over smart.I know that the terms Manu, sati,Deavdasi hurts the sentiments of people like you.But the truths have to be accepted.Hearing such words make you also out of senses.

No one is immune to criticism,If you cant accept it,you are a Idiot.
