The real major risk is during an MRI scanning which was not spelt out by the author!
I had a friend who pierced his tongue and had a metallic ring hanging at the tip of the tongue.
When he fell unconscious on one day he was subjected to an MRI Scan. While the MRI staff and family members & friends removed all visible metallic objects on his body no body thought about the ring on his tongue tip as his mouth was naturally closed in his unconscious state.
No sooner he was put in the scanscope than the ring shot off from his mouth tearing away his tongue because of huge magnetic field.
We all thought -Thank God! He didnt pierce his geEnitals!

My dear Frnd, i the ring is of Gold/Silver then no magnetic field can do the thing that u mentioned, even in MRI Case one can have gold ring/ear rings, no need to remove this.

All metals inherently are magnetic in a pure scientific sense-only the degree differs. Pure Gold i.e. 24K version is not magnetic in common sense; but you create jewellary with 24K Gold because of its softness.
BTW most of these crazy fashion related ornaments are made of high grade stainless steel than of Gold or Silver.
I have just created a wild imaginary anecdote for the sake of fun, BTW!
