Sidin is one of the most popular blog writers and i actually enjoyed lot of his writings. He is hilarious and his writing on livemint for office humor are also good.
I have not read this book as yet, somehow i feel this is not the best choice for exceprt. There is no connect with the character and hence i didnt feel the pain neither did i find it funny.
Still am sure that the book would be an interesting and funny read.
It seems more like a conversation that a book, atleast 80% of the language used here are not generally used, that too by Mallus like concierge- c'mon who uses that.

I completely agree. This MBA thingie had become one of the most wasteful destructive career streams. They turn otherwise prospective engineers into fund managers and stock speculators, nothing short of gamblers

There are two inherent flaws in whatever you are saying: 1. What makes u feel that govt has spent even a penny on the education of every engineer in this country? The credit of bringing education to masses lies with several private institutions, though it does not mean that I justify them for everything they do.
Govt colleges have around 0.2% Engineering college seats for over half a Crore students who are eligible to start their undergraduate program every year. Have you ever wondered what happens to the remaining aspirants? By the way, from your argument I can surely understand that if you are a graduate, you must be from a period earlier than early 1990s. Starting mid 1990s, govt gradually starting cutting down its expenditure on higher education and started focussing on primary education - good or bad, it has been the policy. Today, the fees paid by Engineering students in decent government colleges, including IITs, run into a few lakhs for the entire 4 year duration unless u r an SC/ST student. I am not saying that govt does not spend any penny on these graduates, but the fact is that today it is less than 20-30%, and top institutes also manage to fund themselves through consulting, higher learning programs and industry workshops. 2. Your assumption that this fellow is not contributing to society is absolutely silly. Contribution does not mean that you work in a shop-floor, or construct bridges, or decide tendering in an air-conditioned office. A book is a contribut

A book is a contribution in the field of art. How can you say this in the land of Rabindranath Tagore or Munshi Premchand or Thiruvalluvar. Pls do away with this Aurangzeb mindset. Also the artist is directly contributing to the treasury by paying Income tax and sales taxes for his book sale.
A state asking a citizen to pay back the money spent on human resources goes against the very tenet of a civil society. When in India you have abolished bonded labor, how can state itself indulge in it. A company that spends money on the training of a resource cannot expect the resource to serve back the company as per our laws, then how can state enforce it? It is most shocking that even educated citizens hold views as this.
I read this book. It is Hilarious. Must read for all those who want a good laugh. After a long time have I seen some real Humour in Indian authors. Highly recommended.
