Calories in samosa are difficult to predict but in the range of 200 to 400 calories per samosa depending on size and type of stuffing. So 740 calories per 2 samosas are good guess I think

Just include walking in your daily routine and avoid long sitting for any reason.
Remember that even 30 extra cal(one banana)daily can make you fat in two to three yrs.

Please do light yoga asanas concentrating on reduction of tummy weight. Avoid junk food, sweets and panner/butter based items. You will see the difference in a months'time.

You did not mention your height or BMI ration. Anyway, instead of normal walking do brisk walking. Else it won't work well. While watching TV at home (or idle) do some stretching, free hand. Drink at least 2-lit of water/day. Avoid calorie rich foods. Try to take early and very light dinner.

Good luck.

Babu,

Lot of people are giving advise. Almost all of them right, but I feel following them blindly can lead to suspision in you, if you are following right decisions. This may happen because of 2 reasons, you are too anxious or you may have one good habit but added another bad habit (unintentionally).

My advise is, even before you set yourself a goal of losing weight, have a thorough knowledge on what diet/nutrition/metabolism is all about. This will help you understand what is the right way/amount to lose weight. There are lot of websites for this information. I suggest you one, healthguideDOThowstuffworksDOTcom/losing-weight-dictionaryDOThtm. There could be better sites than this.

When you read this do not read to make a plan on how you are going to lose weight, instead once you think you have enough knowledge on what is good and what is bad about food and weight, then to set goals for yourself and start executing your plan. I assure you, you will feel the difference of having this knowledge and how miraculously you will be able to expect whats coming next. Even if you fail to meet your milestones, you will be able to reason it out. Which actually motivates you to strictly adher to the plan. In normal cases, not meeting a milestone is a big putoff, and 99% of people giveup losing weight because of this. I hope now you understand, why I am stressing on gaining knowledge about losing weight before start to act on it.

When you start walking, if you dont feel like listening to songs, just call up a friend or ask him or her to call you up. select one friend each day while you walk. Talk for one hour while you walk...it distracts you a lot and you will beocme like a Natraj Pencil by the end of 2 months. It woorked for me.

The only solution that works for me every time is to keep the bad stuff out of my eye. That is, I never buy this food. If I have the bad food in front of me, I will eat it. Simple advice, but that works!

Swimming is overrated. OYu dont use your body weight while you swim. Free hand exercises tone up upper body. We should think of lower portion.

'Using' body is not the point. Making your heart work is the point. Anerobic exercises like swimming, walking, jogging etc are good for weight loss.
Swimming is actually better than walking according to many.

Stretches wont burn much calories.
Get your heartrate up, and that is how calories are burnt. Breath control as with yoga, is also good.

If knee is totaly out of order he is out of luck with swimming. But generally, swimming outs less stress on joints than walking.
