Life is a stage and we are the actors...

Writing a book is not so easy thing,we need to ensure that we complete it,it is saleable,it is emotive,it has substance,it has sincerity and most importantly it gets a good publisher..

I am trying to write a novel since 1995..till now only 27 A4 size pages completed..I want to write the best masterpiece of all times !!!

Although I have published many articles, poems in magazines of my mother tongue since I was in standard eight,i.e. 1986,however,in English nothing much except one article in The Statesman, one poem in the Asian Age,one article in the Asian age,all during 1995-96.Writing a book needs lot of determination...

In my way of writing adventure, the biggest obstacle is my laziness to write..then comes my philosophy..I think all the best things have already been written, what remains for me to write ?

Can I make my book everlasting ? Then I think, what is the meaning of everlasting, where as nobody knows how many centuries human civilisation will last..

Becoming a successful writer is also one dream like many other dreams that we dream in the teenage and youth.Sometimes I thought,I can be a bollywood actor, some one like Anupam Kher or Irfan Khan..but how to get the chance !

Then I thought if I can be a good singer, like say Sonu Nigam,well.. my voice is good for poetry recitation, but not continuous and suitable for singing,I take pause inbetween..
This way, people die burying many dreams..

Therefore,I congratulate Amrit,for writing and publishing a book !

This guy is lucky that he isnt a voracious reader...! If he were, he wldnt have dared taking his crap to a publisher...! But, the thing is that in India, now there is a large mass of people who r just beginning to get introduced into reading books, late, in their adulthood, and serve as a good market for these so called 'writings'..! And thats a good market to tap. But, unfortunately, if u were already into reading right from your early teen or childhood, u wld never ever want to attempt such a writing and wld never be able to stomach such a writing by others as well - as has been rightly reflected by his own wife's comments..!

It doesnt matter
by vivek on Mar 12, 2010 09:40 AM

It doesn't matter you have been planning since childhood or just decided this morning. The good novels have flow, sophistication and depth.

If your writing meets or surpasses established standards of writing then only you can aspire to make living as novelist. If not, you just want to write to impress people, flaunting your novelist status.

is writing a book these days.

Reminds me of 1980s hindi movies. Diamond Merchants, Chappal Wala, Bhindi Wala were making really classic movies :)

Let them write buddy, you also write one,you have a good sense..I donot think it will not be tough..take one topic ! say BT brinjal and then copy paste cust modify all the posts on BT brinjal from blogger's post in rediff..then u can make a book on BT Brinjal,it will sell well..or you can make one book "Women's reservation, the iceberg !"

What is the loss if one can make some bucks from a book ?

I donot think Penguin will publish a book,if it is not worth it !

IT IS ONLY WITH THE HEART THAT ONE CAN SEE RIGHTLY,WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR A NOVELIST IS INVISIBLE TO THE EYE........LIVE WITH SAMSKAR.........AND U WILL DEVELOP A VIBRATION OF QUALITY.......IT IS OF NO USE TO SAY I HAVE NO CHOICE TO THINK OR DO A PARTICULAR WAY........WHICH UR HEART ALWAYS SAY THAT THIS IS RIGHT.......UR CHOICE TO LEAD A LIFE ON UR PRINCIPALS CAN'T BE CHANGED WITH SITUATIONS.........

They are trying once Chetan Bhagat was a hit,so you really can't compliment them for any innovation or originality as such.

3 idiots will now spur a generation of writers purely as a fad.

Actually the success of chetan bhagat's books has shown that one can write any crap and make money..! Not bad..at least will bring more and more people into reading and make publishing and writing a viable business.
