Anil Rego must have been favoured for writing in support of the present budget. Or he must be a hrd core Congress supporter. First, the IT Proposals are offering nothing for people who are earning less that taxable income of Rs 3 Lakh per annum. Why? Are they not eligible for some kind of help? Or are ony the higher income slabs need support? A person having income of Rs 8 Lakhs saves Rs 51500 in Income Tax. Does such a person deserve such a treatment when the lower income groups do not get any benefit?
Next, What the FM has given away, he has more than taken. Service Tax on Air and Rail travel. Do they not pinch all the people (more so the lower income groups)? Medical payments thro' Medical Insurance is under Service Tax, does it not hurt the people.
Next,What has the Govt done on the spiralling prices. Food inflation at around 20% is totally left unattended. Is this then a good budget?
Next, Will not the increase in costs of fuels add to the already high inflation? Was there a need for this increase now? The Auto segment was doing well and now the Govt has tried to put brakes on this by increasing ED on Automobiles and increase in cost of fuels. Is this a right policy?
Do you want more Mr. Rego? I can give more arguments. Please keep aside the view of economists.

There was a mix of positives and negatives in the budget and all the budgets are like this only. No budget can please all section of the society. You are the kind of person who sees only negatives and have negative growth in career and society.
Tax concessions can be given only to persons who are in tax net. Salaried class is most heavily taxed class. All other classes of tax payers get lot many concessions where they can claim deduction for part of personal expenditures also. So once in a while it is necessary to provide relief to salaried class also.
Can anybody say - what is the average income of an indian? And can P.Chidambaran and Pranob Mukherjee will be able to give shelter to his both parents and his own two childs?????????? If yes, then only, i will agree in this budget !!!!!!!!!
