beautiful temple and beautiful priest are not enough..we need temple committee who can utilise donations in best possible way. just doing gaudy show with money is not way.
in this regard, the chriStians are way ahead..with donations going to educational schools/colleges and charity for needy/old age home, hospital, vocational college ,poverty eradication program etc
temple committee need to have strong practical approach as well as spiritual

Unfortunately that is not possible. In India most Hindu temples are controlled by state governments unlike churches which are independent and can use the funds for social purposes. State govts dont care about people or religion only to fill up their own pockets

Tamil Nadu Temples

I am from A.P but was always a fan of Tamilnadu temples. A two week trip of Tamilnadu is needed just to go through all the noted temples. There are several other good ones too. I studied in REC Jaipur and have visited several other places but I am most impressed with Tamilnadu. Rest of India was invaded by barbarians for a long time. Luckily they never made it to the south of the Caveri river. Thank God!

Barbarians never made it to the south of Cauvery river. But, that is being compensated by the SECULAR governments, which have total control over the Hindu temples in AP, TN and several other states.

Many beautiful temples are negelected and ruined and their lands are occupied by the Sickular politicians. If the Govt is secular how it is allowed to control temples only?
Reinnovation and maintenance of these old temples would attract tourists and provide lively hood to many.

What kind of temple would be beautiful..

Only beautiful temples are not enough, we also need beautiful priest, spiritual leader who can guide people through their pain, suffering, confusion. In west priest gets the best education possible, they are highly trained in helping visitors.
In india its high time we help priest be the best, so they can lead the community in better life, before people loose respect for temple and priest.

For this the govt. control of temples should go, as starters. BTW, let us not compare cultures in this. How many countries have you been in and how many priests do you know who are "very well educated" - educated in what?
