Can I use SARAL – II (ITR-1) for A.Y. 2011 -12 as I find it more convenient & easily accessable as compared to Sahaj.

Income ( loss ) from share market
by wow aaha on Jun 10, 2010 10:58 PM  | Hide replies

i have salary income rent from one house and NEGATIVE profit ( loss :( ) from shares short term ( read F&O ) . I want to carry forward my loss in share market so i can offset in next years when i make profit ( hopefully ; day-dreaming ) . Which form should i use?

If you have income from other heads and loss under one head, you should first set off the loss under the some other head (in your case short term capital loss from shares) and the balance only can be carried forward and set off in the subsequent year. (I dont know whether this is an idiotic answer. Let me see what others say)

ideally u should get your cheque delivered at the address u gave in form, provided u have filed account number as well.

wait for 6-7 months. then u can try call center number as well. there is one govt site when u can check status . if all fails goto income tax office where u filed the return, there by looking ur return form rcpt you will come to know which room ( circle ) u need to contact. one or 2 visits are enuf to get check in ur hand.
you will get ur money back for sure but time is bit undefined. I could get my money back after 2 year.

Believe me there is lot of improvement in attitude of govt officials. thanks to RTI , which also nice tool to get update

Pension is treated under the head salary. Commission received is "income from other sources" (not considered as business income) So You can Use ITR1. No problem.
