All sort of meditations are in the market.Every guru & their chelas want to prove their superiority.Dont go after any system.Follow simple breathing exercise.Select isolated room, dimly lit.Sit in any comfortable posture even on chair/sofa.Close eyes.Inhale count 1234,exhale count 1234.Put alarm in mobile 10/15mnt.After few days concentrate on inhaling & exhaling at nosestril.your mind will wonder here & there.Again concentrate at nosestril-inhale exhale.increase to 30mnts.After few weeks concentrate at third eye.You will get same benefit without running after all babas.
The Art of Living International Center at Bangalore is indeed a very cool place. Its like heaven on earth! And the Art of Living Programs and the Sudarshan Kriya is a BLESSING to mankind.

There is no need to go to School or college. Learn on your own. Sports, music, art...anything. It is simple. You can learn on your own. Why pay others?

In a sense you are correct but his talking and listening happen only when you connect, without connection your talking and listening is like conversation on a phone whose jack is not plugged in. One has to connect to communicate Sahaja Yoga is the way to do so and its free of cost as it's all between you and God.
Often we find that people who become dejected by failures, stressed with worries or just like that become philosophical and engage in pursuit of religion or spirituality or self discovery etc., start growing hair on their head and face. Some other people shave off / tonsure their hair.
What the kural above means is that there is no need to grow or shave off the hair, so long as one discards from his life what is considered wrong or immoral by the world.
So before one sets out in pursuit of spirituality and meditation etc., the sine qua non is to become free from violence, greed, hatred, ego, lies (as opposed to honesty and truth), laziness, selfishness etc. at the three levels - thought, words and action. In the absence of this, things like wearing a rudraksha, wearing t-shirts with gods' pictures, performing pranayam or sudarshan kriya, performing yogasanas etc. will be NO DIFFERENT from the rituals that have dominated our lives in the name of bakthi (devotion) for centuries.
I am not saying that it is not necessary to ensure physical fitness. I am only introspecting as to what we would like to achieve with a fit physique - be obsessed with mundane routines and enjoyments or do something which will leave a trail of glory for the future generations?

Meditation purifies the soul. Once the soul gets purified, negative feelings like violence, greed, hatred, ego, laziness and selfishness starts to diminish. Pranayam as the name suggests increases 'prana' or energy in the body and the mind. Regular practice of Sudarshan Kriya balances emotions, brings clarity of mind, infuses joy and happiness in life. So those who are not meditating, practicing yoga and Sudarshan Kriya are losing big time...only those who do not want an easy and a peaceful life can afford not to do that!

all the brokers (swamies/bishop/etc) between god and innocent poeple are expert on the above, then why they are doing all worst things?

Some are bad. You cant help it. Some are projected bad by media and politics. In India, there is an hidden movement that wants to destroy Hinduism. Just be aware of it

Hi Priya, I concur completely with you on benefits of meditation. But at same time, last 2 sentences are kind of car salesman's words.. emotional blackmailing.. :-)

Happiness and pleasure are different. For extreme happiness you need to be spiritual as you are the biggest wonder and when you realize then all done. You all just need to find two answers - which you must have already thought of 1. What are you doing here(with billions people around you), what's your goal? 2. Who are you?

Millions across and I personally have benefited tremendously and I would invite all to experience it too! Whether it is emotional blackmail or not, that's completely how you take it.

PI, Selling good things is a good thing. So if someone sells you meditation or yoga...so be it. Do not think that selling or marketing is bad.

Let them think whatever they want! Truth need not to be explained. It is our duty to make them aware - if they are intelligent then they will take it and if they are not then they will keep on cross questioning :-)
Regularity: Set aside the same time or times each day for your meditation. Recommended are dawn (just after awakening), twilight, high noon, and midnight. Another time is in the evening, just before bedtime. It’s also easier to meditate on an empty stomach 2 – 3 hours after meals). #
Exercise: If you have time, exercise a little before you meditate. Yoga postures are an excellent way to relax the body and mind before meditation. Paramhansa Yogananda’s Energization Exercises are also highly recommended. #
Location: Set aside a room, or small part of a room, just for meditation. Try to find as quiet a spot as possible; if this is difficult, try using foam earplugs or headphones to block out the noise. Be sure the room is not stuffy and a little on the cool side; a blanket or shawl to wrap up in is nice.

#
Sitting: Protect yourself from the downward pull of earth currents by sitting on some natural fiber, like a wool or silk blanket or piece of cloth placed on your meditation chair, bench, or cushion. Sit Erect! Whether you sit on a meditation bench, pillow or on a chair, keep your back straight, chest raised, head erect, eyes closed, and hands resting palms upturned in your lap, preferably at the juncture of the thighs and abdomen. Click here to find out more information on how to sit comfortably for meditation. #
How long?: Do not set unrealistic goals for yourself. It is better to meditate 5 – 15 minutes and be very consistent with your practice, and then increase your time as you can. One longer meditation each week can be very helpful. It also helps to meditate with other people, especially with those who have been meditating longer than you. You'll find that group meditations will often help you to meditate longer than you normally would on your own

Begin your meditation by saying a prayer either out loud or inwardly to God and the Masters, asking them to guide and help you. Do some chanting if you can, using a cassette tape of chants can be helpful. Then practice the breathing exercises to relax: Inhale, tense the whole body, then throw the breath out and relax (do this 2 or 3 times). Then do some measured breathing: inhale, hold, and exhale, then begin again. Do this 6 – 12 times. Choose a count that is comfortable for you; anywhere from 6-6-6 to 12-12-12 or higher. Afterwards, relax and breathe normally, and become aware of your breath. #
You should feel more relaxed now. Remember to hold the body still. You can mentally check it from time to time to see that no part becomes tense again. Physical tension is a great deterrent to calm and deep meditations. Be very silent and relaxed, yet aware. #
Meditate with joy, with devotion. Don’t wait for God’s joy to make you joyful, be joyful first yourself! Meditation will help you to remember, on ever deepening levels, of who and what you truly are. You are a child of God, and one with the Infinite Light.

You have not defined the meditation, how to perform it. I have read in Srimad Bhagwat that dragging the both vision to the bottom of nose then slowly lifting the vision in same pose upward, then closing the eye and make the mind thought free. What is the way you suggest.

Hi Saraswat, Bhagavat uses the term "nasikagra". Swami Yukteshwar used to teach that the word nasikagra here does not mean bottom of nose. Rather it means the start of the nose i.e. the top of the nose. As you can see this is the same as the mid point between the eye-brows.

To concentrate on nose top is difficult for starters, simplified by looking at bottom and then lifting up to the right position. Thanks for enhancing my receiving.
