whatever is said and done. west bengal is the best as of today for Science. All the big colleges in other states can not match in front of some small colleges in West Bengal. They produce india' best science people, at least in the last 5 years. Thanks to the communist parties. They do not allow any major industries in their state. So bengalis do not have better options of studying engineering. and good brains choose science. in other states, the better brains choose engineering, fashion and new areas. the bottomline is, no big college can match the smalltown colleges in west bengal when it comes to the quality of science graduates pass out.
