Where is webcam apple???
by syed jawahar on Jan 31, 2010 09:22 PM

Apple, what the hell are you trying to make?. Where is the webcam?. Does it allow to install any software just like windows or everything needs to be done through iTunes?? I hate this word iTunes...All your existing songs will get suck you up when you sync with another pc.

By the way, I could have offered for double the price if it had webcam and a little more extra memory...32GB for iPad?? give me a break....My N900 has 32GB!!!...

Weakest offering from the Apple stable
by Super User on Jan 31, 2010 09:01 PM

The key problem with iPad is it does not address a specific consumer requirement.

e.g.
iPod - Pocket sized music player
iPhone - Smart phone
Mac - Alternate to a PC
iPad - ?? (XXL version of iTouch??)

IPad - Its more powerful than iTouch but not as powerful as a computer. Im not sure there is a market for something between iTouch and Mac.

Also several compter manufacturers have been making tablet PC for about 6 years now. I agree the market hasnt exploded. The USP of tablet PC is they can be used both as a normal PC and as a tablet (pull out the screen and use it separately)

iPad is a stand alone tablet - i.e. cannot be docked like the tablet PCs... and that in my opinion is its biggest disadvantage.

I feel iPad's marketing will work to the advantage of the existing tablet PCs and help lift tehir profiles.

Pricing
by vicky nanjappa on Jan 29, 2010 12:19 PM  | Hide replies

If they continue to keep the pricing this low, then it will, there is a lot this thing does not do. An AV jack with an iphone will give the same experience. Hype wise, it may just scrape through

I meant "paid news" - without it, most newspapers in the US will die eventually.

It make a good reader - and Apple knows this. Its success depends on newspapers and magazines shifting to iPad - and sticking loyally to Apple.

No no for 1st Generation iPad
by Kiran Chauhan on Jan 29, 2010 11:23 AM  | Hide replies

Why "NO" for this iPad -
1) Don’t have webcam
2) Don’t have multi-apps feature, means cannot run 2 apps at a time.
3) Very Low disk space.
4) Has 3G capability but cannot make calls.
5) It just looks like a giant iPhone.

It cant play cassette recorder.
It cant play VCD.
It is smaller than the optical mouse.
Not enough place in the desktop to see all my icons/folders.

Hyped?
by parthiban d on Jan 29, 2010 10:34 AM

Hyped! Who hyped it, it's the stupid media that hyped, no layman other than apple maniacs was looking forward to iPad. It was only media that boosted and boasted the launch in last one week, people are yet to get an iPhone. iPad is a "Haiti" for Apple.

Won't be a run way sucess
by Sameer Chandawat on Jan 29, 2010 10:32 AM

Probably ipad is one of the weakest gizmos out of Apple's armoury. It is neither Laptop nor a phone.

It would have been better if Apple had launched ipad as a gaming console.

another aspect that apple may look into is that it should allow installations of 3rd party appliactions on its devices.
