Then you never purchased a phone for your mother; Main challenge many of us face is our mother may not read/understand english; then buying them a phone is all the more challenging; not many manufacturers make vernacular language compliant phones.

Take your mum's cellphone and set alarm , say for 10.30 A.M. or so ( When she has got up from sleep, had her breakfast, and is ready to relax )Tell her to compulsorily hook up the phone to the charging plug and to leave it like that until Alarm No: 2 rings, say at, 12 p.m. or so. Et both the alarms to RECURRENT Alarm, so that it rings every day at the appointed time ! You may mark off SUNDAY in the Alarm, so that your mum get a day OFF from her routine charging ( As you have already stated that the phone's battery lasts for 3 days ! Get a phone with altleast 25 fixed dialling facility. But the guy who suggested this should also remember that there are only 10 distinct single numbers in our numerals ! Not 25 . So poor mum will have to remember or byheart 2 digits numbers to call people. How about 25 voice activated dialling facility in Mum's phone ? If you really love your mum, don't give her a cellphone ! Give her a good old landphone instead !
