Mere existing is not living it can be done four legged species too.Human being can only make difference in other human beings life thats speciality of this species If you cant help atleast dont discourage them. These altruists might not change fate of the country but even if one human being gets a benefit then I salute their humanity, compassion and effort.GREAT JOB GUYS KEEP IT UP!!!

Teach for India & Akansha
by raj dhillon on Jan 25, 2010 06:06 PM

"Teach For India" & Akansha need to be mentioned here as two NGOs who are providing quality education to the underprivileged and uplifting the morale & education of many, many children specially in Mumbai & Pune. We should sincerely hope that they soon branch out to other cities, towns & even villages. The HRD ministry under the dynamic Kapil Sibal must take note of these NGOs and the Fellows who devote two years of their precious life to go and work amongst the underprivileged. The Fellows are handpicked from the choicest minds after a rigorous selection process. Teach For India is on the lines of Teach For America & similar NGOs active in other countries which pool their resources. Industrial Houses must also come out in support of these actively managed NGOs as also the GOI in giving incentives to such Houses. This will enthuse the youth of our country to participate in such Fellowships. Let us all wish these NGOs all success in their program and spread the word about their good work in empowering the underprivileged.

Its too late now
by Zinda Dil on Jan 25, 2010 05:09 PM  | Hide replies

India's population has become too big for all its citizens to be educated. Its impossible to provide education to this many people, and that's that. India cannot achieve much as a nation, and its destiny is sealed. End of story.

And there is no evidence at all that the work done by these Pehel people helped any of these kids. It all seems like just a photo opportunity.

by M on Jan 25, 2010 05:05 PM

India Cant go ahead with Idiotic uneducated public representatives.
The people who Govern the Nation are Habitual Liars and Cheaters and mostly illiterate brutes.
There is not much hope from such segment of the society of rulers, who teach others to become Looters.

'We want to achieve the aim of an educated India'
by ISFANDIAR HOSAINPUR on Jan 25, 2010 04:48 PM

Governments (state Governments) stopped investing in Education. Now a days from many years no schools, colleges, specially primary middile or secondery schools from the government. Private schools mostly substandard run by builders or real estate owners. specially in secunderbad and hyderbad cities are being expanded with new town ships but no provision for schools. many private schools in new town ships are run by failed teachers and those schools only compare with Autoriksha
