Credit card should be just a easy way to pay when you are not carrying or dont want to carry lot of cash. You have a privilege, I repeat privilege of re-paying after 15 days. If you want to delay beyond that then one deserve the penalty and high interest. One should know how much amount he can pay from his account. Simple.. dont use credit card for any amount beyond that. Only exception should be medical emergencies.. With online payments facilities delays need not be excused.
Today if we want to close the a/c or convert to EMI, these banks especially standard chartered bank, take their own sweet time and delay the process and charge late fee. very smartly they fool card holders.
TODAY IND GOVT ALLOWED ALL BANKS TO TAKE INT FROM PEOPLE UPTO 35 TO 40% IN A YEAR. IT SEEMS GOVT ALSO JOINED WITH BANKERS TO KILL PEOPLE. WHY THE GOVT NOT INTERESTED TO REDUCE INTEREST ON CREDIT CARDS? WHAT ARE YOU DOING FINANCE MINISTERJI???????? KINDLY LOOK INTO THIS MATTER V.SERIOUSLY SINCE MANY PEOPLE AFFECTED IN THIS HELL!!!!!!!!!!!11

dear mr pradip it seems you have little or no knowledge about credit cards. so please enlighten yourself before making comments
Whilst I was away overseas my wife (foreign national)walked out of my life with my son (left for overseas) leaving her credit card outstanding dues of over 2 lakhs. This card was issued to her directly without my knowledge. I only got to know about this card after returning home. We have been getting frequent calls from recovery department, however, I have explained to them that my wife has left me for good and we are likely to be divorced in near future. This was NOT an add-on card but independent card issued to her in her name. What is my liability at this point?

If its not an addon card, your liability is nill. Apart from being her husband, is there any link between you and the credit card that the issuing bank has utilized? If not, and it was issued independently to her, then you have nothing to worry about.
