my dsl connection and phone werenot working on 5dec. when i gave a complaint, they gave me a complaint number. the technician came but he still didnt fix but the complaint was closed. when i complained, they reopened and the technician now came on 7 dec and did a cross connection. i found out the cross connection and complained again. these fellows closd and opened a new ticket. the services were fixed on 8 dec. but they should be refunding me rent for delay in fixing. i have got the calls of my neighbour billed to my account. when i complain to airtel, they write that we cant refund.

in an earlier instance, when the phone, internet were not fixed before the deadline given by them, they infact refunded the rent for those 3 days.

I switched to DOCOMO. Seems to be OK for now. Now I understand why people go violent during bandhs. That is the only time they can take out the frustration of of mis-administration of public and private sector.

credit rating? hahahaha. does that exist in India? even if it does and it hurts your credit rating, dont fret. some baabus in some agency will fix your credit rating for a small bribe.

Bribing the baabus to fix credit rating is not the solution. With time, the conditions will become worse as is the case with other govt depts.

BSNL
by AARVEE RAMKI on Jan 13, 2010 10:25 PM

I've taken a BSNL prepaid connection. The service is worst to say the least. I'll be able to hear what the caller says, but the caller wouldn't be able to hear what I say. If I send one SMS, it would be delivered atleast 10 times to the receiver, annoying the receiver. If I send a message 'The meeting is at 9 AM, it would be delivered atleast 10 times, even at 12 midnight!.

Reliance NetConnect Cheated Me
by Sudharsan Vijayaraghavan on Jan 13, 2010 10:16 PM

I work in Gulf and had come down to India last month. I wanted an internet connection which I can use with my laptop. I didn't want to spend 2000 on a USB modem. When I contacted Reliance (I had a GSM connection of theirs) to know if I could use my GSM phone as a modem, my model was checked by the by the call center operator and told that it would work and I would need to pay Rs 107 for an unlimited 15 days service.

I went to Reliance franchise to activate the pack against my GSM connection. First thing is that the sales person was not able to comprehend what I was speaking, I had to call the call center and ask the person there to guide him. Finally I got the pack activated on my phone by paying Rs107.

I was asked to send an SMS to a number to get the configuration settings for my handset. I got a reply saying that the handset is not supported. I tried with 5 different handsets which I know will work. But the same reply.

Finally when I called up the call center they refused to take a compliant as there was no option to take the compliant for the handset model. After lot of deliberations, I was given the number of Nodal Officer at chennai. When contacted the nodal officer was nice to speak but the problem never got resolved.

In the end, the one month got over and I came back to gulf thinking this is how ambanis become one of the richest in the world. Mr.Ambani I'm proud that I able to give alms to one of the richest in the world.

Kar Lo Dubiya Mutti meni like this.

Dont generalise
by Balaji Venkateshwaran on Jan 13, 2010 09:50 PM  | Hide replies

I have vodafone/ hutch connection from last 7 years and I had visited europe and US many times and didnt face any problem even once.
there are many aspects to look into before we totally blame the service provider...i strongly doubt this would be ignorance of the user to activate the service once u reach the international destination. (go to vodafone menu and activate international roaming and restart mobile)
