This is a good bit of discussion. But the main feature of software testing is that it is a creative work. And other aspect is wide scope of its application. Like for example the BRT corridoor could have been tested with software simulation instead of first spending crores on infrastructure etc. I hope new applications shall be introduced by some" Super IDIOTS" in future for real Indian applications.
This is a good article about testers. Testers are usually treated like lesser mortals by the software world. 'Only tetsting?', 'any one can do testing..' are the typical expressions.
But testing does require immense understanding of the entire application, which developers do not get since they are restricted to a particular module....
But still testing is not given sufficient importance during planning and hence quality is compromised. This leads to furious response from the customer....
I really liked this article. Especially it throws more light on opportunities for freshers as well as for experienced professionals. Good work rediff, plz carry on the same.
