CAT rescheduled
by pooja pewekar on Jan 13, 2010 11:30 PM

I successfully gave CAT in the first phase, but I am still rescheduled for the second phase. Sounds totally unacceptable. But I guess I am left with no other choice. I hope there is no third phase of the test.

CAT rescheduled

The efforts put by you to secure developmnet in CAT process but because of some or other problems there have been some unsatisfactory results which you never expected, rescheduling may leads to controvarsy, therefore it is very difficult to comments on this unless you provide the complete details of breakdowns that hampered the performance of the candidates, if you find their nos is below 4.5% you need not to rescheduled the CAT 2010

Unfair and Tendencious

This is totally unacceptable: Retest for few, that too after 2 months from the actual examination date. Two months are more than enough for any one, who had little preparation before, to prepare well. Added to it, the format and the important topics are very well known. The CAT committee is totally ludicrous when they say that retest for selected few is fair. They are only interested in their contract with Prometric. It will be very obvious from the final results that more than 90% of those who will be selected for top B-schools will be from the 10000 odd candidates who appear for the retest. If there has to be a retest, it should be for everyone. Shame on CAT conductors; they are debauching this sacrosanct exam. The Government must stop these awry, complicit, reprobate people from doing such an inane thing.

truly said. But, the sad thing is that none of the morons sitting in parliament is bothered about this simple logic that giving 2 more months extra for a few is not at all worth.

The cat committee should instead consider only the papers of those 8000 odd people who are giving the retest and scrap the remaining others paper who gave test earlier successfully.

Shame on these bstards sitting at IIMs and their proponents

unnecessary love of gadgets and technology
by Samarth Chandra on Jan 12, 2010 10:26 PM

Its just a case of unnecassary fascination for gadgets and technology that this online system seems to have been introduced. I think even in personal life relying only on few gadgets keeps life simple and peaceful. Automating everything and introducing new gadgets is not necessarily "progress".

What is the need of becoming advanced if in present system there is more fair? This time CAT become a complete joke and loses fairness.
I hope god gives some wisdom to CAT administrator so that they don't blindly follow others.

CAT rescheduled: Share your opinions and advice

My niece appeared for this Test from a Centre in Mumbai. She was able to complete the test without any hitch. There were hundreds of candidates who also completed the test fully. By ordering this Re-Test, they would have to go through the rigours of re-testing. But it will be some sort of a solace for people who felt cheated due to the malfunctioning encountered during the On-Line Test. IIMs credibility is at stake.

If every candidate is forced to appear for the re-test, then IIMs should evaluate both performances [Successfully complted ON-LINE process] and the retest in case of candidates who appeared fully for both the On-Line and Re-test and award them for the better of the two performance. But there should be complete transparency here. How they will do it ............ ? Let the bright brains in IIM scratch and come out with a credible solution.
