It is not limited to women and all indians want to pretend they are americans. Everyone wants to show how much more english they know than the other Indian and show off their knowledge of for eg., some music band, or brand clothing or TV serial or American celebrity etc etc etc. Ask them about Kalidasa's poetry or Aryabhatta's contributions to mathematics or who other than Valmiki wrote Ramayana, they will look at you as though you are backward and unsophisticated. And that, my friend, is the real tragedy and therein lies the question of whether Indian culture will survive or not! Will it become another Greece - a lost civilization!

yes that is the only problem u cantalk about hereos & culture from thousand years ago but what about present-we have leaders who let policeman diw in front of them-It is better to admire american hereos who are living currently then live in the past * boast about what happened 2000 years ago-you will never ubdersatnd because u r hoodwinked into thinking that because our people did something great 1000 years ago we dont need to do anything-It is normal human nature to fins hereos & no matter what their color they should be admired.& u wake up from ur stupor of 1000 years

Moron, we have great people as recent as 50 years ago. Do you know them? Whoever said that what happened to the policeman was okay? Dont get confused - this is the problem with our education too - people dont understand what the other guy is saying. People like you are the reason we are becoming Americans. But we are neither here not there. Neither do we have their rationality and social order nor do we have Indianness.
