Most average and dumbest students
by vivek on Jan 18, 2010 09:14 PM

Most average and dumbest students of my graduation batch joined iipm. they were obviously weren't endowed with enough aptitude to get even through MAT or ATMA. Now after such expansive degree they are working in shop floors, telecallers, office assistants and receptionists. Girls chose marriage to such lowly jobs.

This has to happen

When u have so much competition for so few good institutions. Also, people get easily influenced by big coloured ads in national news papers, promising foreign trips, and 100% placements in world's top 500 companies.
Use ur brains ppl....visit the college, meet the students (not the administration or faculty), and then u get to know the reality.
Another thing- the kind of students that study in a college will give u pretty clear picture of what the crowd in the college is like, depicting the selection procedure.

making decision on career
by PRODOSH BANERJEE on Jan 11, 2010 12:01 PM

I believe that one must have a good core competence in at least one field of his choice first. Over and above he should have a minimum qualification to go for some management related careers. A good graduation doesn't mean that he very well has to go for a job in that subject only. A graduation trains the mind of any individual to learn something by reading on his own! Afterwards the sky is the limit- thanks to the vast opportunities waitin g in different areas in the country and the info about that is available in the net too!

Bluffing made by Most B-schools
by ajay singh on Jan 11, 2010 11:50 AM

the second case of Gautam is showing a very true picture of Most of the B-schools. Quoting an example, Most of the Business schools situated in Badarpur, new delhi are the example of the same case, which gets students just via means of aggressive advertising, which used to show highly inflated figures about placements and all. One of the college IBS(International Business school)is using the brand value of different IBS(indian school of business) &(icfai school of Business. The most disgusting fact is this that the level of education provided is no where close to any good institutes one.

SELECTION PROCESS
by v vv on Jan 11, 2010 11:02 AM  | Hide replies

Leave it to the Parents, who will always think of good for their children. Parents constantly watch the children's likes and dislikes, develop a passion for certain subjects, consult their friends / well wishers, and put forward various option for the children. Children who are emotionally attached certain subjects, and under peer pressure, are not able to foresee long term vision to select the properline. Hence, it is always accept the Parents choice; after all they are going to pay the fees and pray for the success, and work closely with the children to achieve their ambitions.

its because of this cringing attitude of parents like you that children develop tremendous pressure. what do you mean me 'we'll pay the fee' so does that mean you owe you child?? there's a difference and sooner you get it the better it is for you i.e they came from you but don't belong to you. stop laying your enefficiencies and failures of not being something you want to on them

Parents as Dictators
by bhawani singh on Jan 11, 2010 10:28 AM

Yes its true that parents now a days also take decisions of their childs education which generally turns out to be BAD.Advertising is a mess today so people should not fall into it.The best thing to do is to discuss with recent pass outs or who are active in the respective fields.
