Customise your resume and your career
by Vilas Naik on Jan 06, 2010 03:11 PM

I have gone through the article in detail. Its beneficial for those who are looking for higher positions. One thing I would like to highlight is all the companies including corporates were influence plays a big role. Its my practcal experience at places were interview held very well. I was almost selected & even called for final interview's for almost three to four times but supprisingly no reply after that. My overall judgement is either the post is filled by with influencial candidate i.e through known person (irespective of what so ever experience he or she has) or the person interviews is not capable of interviwing. In most of the cases specialy in small companies the HR manager takes the first interviwe who does not have proper experience & reject the candidate. Person with insufficient knowledge are placed on managerial post in most of the small companies through influence which affects the whole industry. Most of the time even promotions, increments are given on the basis of influence. Employees close to Directors or General Managers gets good increments & promotions too. Every one cannot except the jon in Multinationals or corporates & had to rely on small private limited companies. There is no professionalism or I would say a decency maintained by the Managers of such companies. In such cases experience people either miss the good opportunity or are deprived of their rights such as promotions or increments. This is the fact prevailing in todays industry.

I am 50 and i have noticed most of the vaccancies in organisation are filled by close relatives and friends. When i was 32 years old and lost my job in a credit card organisation i could not get one in the same field. So i remained jobless for last 10 years. Two years back Ma Foi had contacted me for a requirement for a dealer for a stock brokerage firm, but they did not call me back. I have got 6 years experience as a certified dealer and also good at trading.I have got all four Es here are exposure, experience, expertise and excellence I was in Indian Air force so i have got integrity, honest hard working and willingness to learn. however I dont mention this in my cv

Just being in the Air force doesn't mean that you have great integrity, honest & hard working. There are attributes that every individuals have and agree they vary in scales, but definitely they are not organizational based.

Talent Networking
by rajani satpathy on Jan 06, 2010 12:35 PM

Talent with the right networking skills can do more to one who is a fresh passout or an experienced campaigner. Talent is like a bus and networking is the road. The right buss takes you to the right destination. The more one tries to understand concepts of finding the right job, the more complicated it becomes. So the best way would be learn right, apply right and project right.

students from reputed college !!!
by SAURABH SINGH on Jan 06, 2010 11:29 AM

how can he appoint college fresher from reputed college???? every one kns that most students bunk classes & there attendence will not be more then 60 % ??? so whats the use of giving preference to them to others who work from scrap (hard work) & with there experience can give good results to company.

day to day experience plays more role then going through theory.

another thing is todays educational system its cost you damn to get a degree from a reputed college. so how can people (low income group ) compete. we should give importance to few factors.
