It would be better if your ire is directed towards those poachers who do not allow these big beauties to live on this earth. At least temple authorites are giving them shelter and food besides proper treatment when they are not well.

Guruvayoor elephants are kept decently. They are given special ayurvedic treatment during monsoon times. They have fixed meals and the temple authorities do not use elephants for labour works. These temple elephants are much much fortunate than their counterparts elsewhere in the country.
