MBA students are a National Asset
by sudhir suri on Jun 04, 2010 11:46 AM

I applied for MBA training at the age of 42. In the form I was to fill why I want to do MBA(FMS Delhi Univ) ,I wrote that whatever I will do after MBA training will be better than BEFORE. . My thinking will become more holistic.21 years I think both the things have HAPPENED .MBA STUDENTS IRRESPECTIVE OF SCHOOL GRADING ARE A NATIONAL ASSET . Unfortunately the faculty does not think so.Time for greater involvement with the assets which are going to be part of Nations growth.

Being a paas out from UBS,I can tell you that they have both their faculty and resources in place...alongwith a regular industrial/guest lecture system (some of them delivered by the well placed alumni) .in fact many imminent faculty members from top institutes wanted to join in here as it was secure ,governemnt job..I got placed in a program run for top 10 managment institutes of the country so I can safely say UBS deserved the rankings it got.P.S. Post 2007 it has not participated in most of the rankingd as per a directive of the university VC.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH.....................................
by ABHIRAJ RANAWAT on Feb 20, 2010 12:20 PM

THEY RUN 2 YEARS COURSE WHERE THEY SELECT BRIGHT STUDENTS FOR STUDY AND VERY CAREFULLY THEY HAVE RESTRICTED THE NUMBER OF SEATS TO PROTECT THEIR BRAND EQUITY AND TO ENSURE THAT STUDENTS GETS PLACEMENT.IIM'S ARE SPRAWLING OVER 100 S OF ACRES OF LAND AND IMPARTING EDUCATION TO HANDFUL OF STUDENTS. WHAT A WASTE (IN FACT CRIME) OF RESOURCES JUST TO PROTECT YOUR FALSE VANITY. THIS PRECIOUS LAND CAN BE USED FOR OTHER GAINFUL PURPOSES.IS IT THE CASE THAT OTHER STUDENTS WHO ARE LEFT OUT ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO STUDY MANAGEMENT. AFTER ALL IT IS NOT A ROCKET SCIENCE.WE HAVE LESS NUMBER OF PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS SO THEY CHARGE EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF FEES FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE NATION. UNDER THE NAME OF MERIT YOU GIVE ADMISSION TO STUDENT WHO SECURED 98 % MARK. DO YOU THINK A STUDENT GETTING 96, 95 ,94 93 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND MEDICINE.WE HAVE YET TO NOTICE EDUCATION AND HEALTH MAFIA RUNNING IN THE NATION.

Has anyone heard about Wlc? Heard that they have a unique traineeship concept wherein students are provided industry exposure while studying.

Wigan and Leigh college is good in one sense that they get the students to undergo industry exposure. But the quality of teaching is very poor. And the work experience gained while studying is not really considered seriously by corporates. Also note that the fees for WLC is very high - about 8-10 lakhs for 2 years. Hence you need to take a clear decision.
