YOU CANNOT GET FAIRER THAN YOUR REAL SKIN
by Suresh J on May 09, 2012 02:33 AM

Remember this guys. You cannot get Fairer than what your skin really is. Yes skin cream with enough SPFs can cut down the UV effect on skin, but remember the side effects too. Use of cream clogs pores and you get acne. To clean acne you use deep cleanser, which dry skin and very dry skin itches and you put cream for itching.. it goes on and on.. So best option, Use a good cap that cuts sunlight on your face. Wear Full sleeve shirt when you ride bike. Use helmet with a visor. Cover the lower portion of your face with kerchief, to cut sun light. Use a Kerchief to cover your neck. Or a over coat with large collar should do the trick. Wear a Glove.

Contrary to what you may believe, You will actually feel few degrees cooler wearing all this. Believe me i have done that. Apply milk butter on you face once a week to give that extra oil to face. Do not over dose with too much hair oil. Try all this and you are going to have good skin.

They work as sunscreen
by Vikram Nalawade on Apr 09, 2010 09:05 AM

If you look at your body, hands and other parts which are always covered then they are fairer than our face. Thus if some sort of cover is applied on the face particularly sun screen then our face can become fairer only to that extent to which our body is fairer. Not more than that.

Lightening cream
by Libran Joy on Feb 21, 2010 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

Well in my personal experience, none of these so called whitening / ligtening cream ever worked. BUT there are few creams when used under supervsion has given excellent results, specially for ageing pigments and patches on the sides of eyes, nose fire head, cheeks neck etc. The result too is significantly visible in less than 3-4 weeks. I am a doctor myself, these creams interfere with the melanine pigmentation process at the root and well.... it does give very changed complexion. These are medcinal creams to be used under supervision.

They work not even 5% as promised
by Sunitha DA on Feb 20, 2010 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

Common guys! They dont work!
Its understood that they would make fair skinned models to turn black(animation or makeup) and then show again that she has become Fair by using their cream!!! Its all bogus.
If it would have really worked they would have made light skinned Bipasha Basu or Nandita Das Glow!!
Pls dont go by Ads
If u want to be fair- Save from Sun & Pollution and use regular home made packs at home. They are best!

I think there is an ASCI council to which all misleading ads can be reported. If it does not work, why doesn't some lady report it to ASCI.
It seems it works wonders only for the financial bottom-lines of the companies promoting them. Recently,a
memory booster AMAZE ad was pulled up by GOI and banned . It is high time, such misleading fairness cream ads are also banned from TV. I hope the GOI is listening.
