Women look more beautiful than man and beautiful people do not just get up from bed the way they are. While some people naturally have a nice complexion, the majority of women, spend 1 hour on their hair, 1 hour doing their make-up, and at the end of the day still are not happy with themselves. Actually being "beautiful" is not about being skinny or having a perfect face. To me, being beautiful is being confident. If we talk about physical beauty, our India is extreme diversity; most good looking and most ugly people are found in India. Perception and preference of beauty is different for different people and it lies in the eyes of the beholder.A survey done by an American agency, a Chinese Agency, an Indian agency or a Nigerian agency will have different results.
Actually, women from middle east are beautyful, especially from Iran. They are much beatyful than American or european women. American get the first position mainly because of Hollywood (more actress exposed to the people who are voting). However average american women and men are not as beautyful as iranian women and men. Also, average Japanese are not as beautyful as average Chinese and average Russian girls are much beautyful than any European and american girls. This rating is rubish.

Due to the traditional values of the Middle-Eastern states, women can not come out without veils, which may be the reason for not being in the top 20.
what a crap. press should really implement RTI. what is the surce of the news. how did study take place. who sponsored the study etc.. crappy and corrupt journalism and publicity stunts.
I think Indians have great complexion, it is warm and soft. We do not realize it because we are now conditioned consider fair skin as desirable. I am one of the few who think otherwise. To look beautiful, one must keep fit, take care of the skin, not with creams and lotions, but by eating right and exercising enough to suffuse the skin with blood and to sweat profusely. Of course, surveys like this one are hogwash and commercially motivated. This one to sell more of fairness creams in India. But, any way, I am an admirer of dark skins as well as fair.
I doubt if Indians women and/or men(self included) appear in top-50 let alone top-10. One Aishwarya Rai does not make others good-looking. If you consider facial features I would say Iranians & Italians. If you consider body-shape I would say Europeans in general. Americans are either very fit or plain-obese. And since more than half Americans are obese, this survey is just a pile of tosh. I general Indians average-to-poor looking.
