CC
by Sathish M on Feb 17, 2010 02:22 PM

I have been using three different banks CC for the last 5 years. To be frank I have never come across any issues other than mistakes made by myself like late payment fee , otherwise I would say Banks are perfect in their transactions.Everyone knew the CC wiil have interest charges and latefee chars and only aaplicable peopel not follows the dates.
I would say people should understand how to make their own financial planning and use CC eefectively. In this world nothing will get as free and no one will give money without interest(except ur family&friends :))and 50 days credit imit is enough.

Credit Cards
by AswathaKumar K on Feb 17, 2010 12:46 PM

My experiences with the credit cards appear to be varied and different with different credit card types.
1. Andhra Bank.
I could not get the credit for the cancelled air ticket amount of this credit card even after personal followup for a long time. Hence i discontinued using or didnot renew the AB card.
No debt balances.
2. ICICI Card. Even one payment is reaches delayed to ICICI, we will be needing to pay cascading interets. Please see that, you get the bills and pay regaularly.
I have not paid some interest amounts due to this in view of the delayed receipt of bills / non receipt of bills etc. Just avoid this card.
3. The great SBI. Many activities of the card business being outsourced by the bank, there is no check whether things are working properly. Hence we donot get bills in time and find it difficult to do business with this card and agents of this CC business.
Just paid a lumpsum amount and got out of the mess. Caneclled all SBI Credit cards.
4. HSBC card. Getting bills thru e-mail.
paying the amounts thru nearest dropbox well in advance ( 2/3 days). options to pay the bills in installments with better choice of interest options is keeping me going ahead with this card continuoulsly.
Just have one card to meet your urgent cash requirement or booking travel tickets. Spend only when you can pay with the next one or two months. Avail Instalments option to minimise cascading interests and reduction in the cash out flow.
Thanks for reading!!!

Its Very Simple
by naresh gupta on Feb 17, 2010 12:23 PM

I am using CC from 4 years and was in the vicisous cycle of Debt and Salary from last 3 years. As soon as my Salary used to come, The statement also come and would ultimately end up most of the salary. Since there is not much cash in account, you again use Credit card and hence the cycle continues.

To get out of this, restrict the use of credit card only on high value items (set a limit of 5K or 7 K) where saving cash in account make sense.Dont use it for small small things.Use Debot cards or Cash, this will help you to keep track of your account balance.

The first month will be very very hectic but after that you will be the most happiest person on the planet.

Because the whole thing is Psycological, Doesnt matter how much cash you have in your account it will be used.
