Instead he should have joined Airforce...much fun to fly past the speed of sound, doing barrel roles and vertical charlies....being airlines pilot is boring ...let the oldies do it....

Instead if he had joned Airforce. It would have been better...doing barrel roles and vertical charlies is more fun than boring airline flying...

You should have consulted an education consultant, before taking this path. It was not a very common path where in you get bits and pieces of information from friends and other contacts. Atleast consult a professional now along with the constraints (financial & otherwise) you have, ask their advise and options you have, do make sure you choose a path after having clarity on where you would end up and what would be challanges ahead of you.

I would suggest rediff to do some research and find the optimal way to reach the goal and give more clarity about the pitfalls and challenges that aspirants usually do not foresee

yes...this is true. Even we have a case in our family who has gone thru the same ordeal. He is jobless till date.Actually by now has given up the thought of becoming a pilot. Now joined father's small business.

Have mercy on parents!!!please rectify the system...every penny counts. What to talk of lakhs...

Education - how much more it will become expensive.

Its disheartening. On what grounds do we encourage our kids for a better future?
