You don't even have to pay Rs. 1000 in Delhi pubs to get booze. I live very near the PVR Priya complex, where all the pubs have 'alcohol will be not be served to people under 25' signs on them. Guess who are their biggest customers? Teenagers, mostly from class 9-12.

When something is a sin then it is a sin irrespective of age or sex. Alcoholism itself is bad and should have been banned systematically (I am not talking about the ineffective prohibition laws). When we try to fool ourselves by saying it is fine for people above a certain age and not for others what does it convey. Youngsters who feel they are more matured than most of the elders around will see no reason to avoid alcohol. Add to this our movies which show alcoholism as something fashionable. And ofcourse you have the media - with their jazzy page 3 photos giving the impression that alcoholism is normal. I am sure there will be some wise guy in this board who will start explaining about Soma Ras and how even Gods had it and all this b**l S**t

Totally agree with you - There is no bigger evil than Liquor/Alcohol... it can only go verse once the habit starts and it ruins family and individuals life... AS YOU SAY IT SHOULD BE BANNED IN INDIA STEP BY STEP
Pity the education minister who is stuck within the class-room and is not grounded there too. Education is with values and he has completely made a de-meaning statement.....this is the state of our country....change the system of elections in this country....
