Subroto Bachi is Poor ???
by Flower Hunter on Feb 04, 2010 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

Subro Bachi Poor/ordinary makes me Laugh. He is trying get the sympathy from the world. hey look i am poor but i reached this state.

His father was an engineer in 1960s and mother had a matriculation degree. He came from a very educated family and rich compared to crores of people with todays standards also.

I feel this guy is a hypocrite. He succeed in his life no doubt in that. Please never ever say you born with nothing. You had everything and that made your life to reach today.

Mr Bagchi -Congrats bt Disappointing
by IndiaWiNS ALL on Feb 04, 2010 11:25 AM

Just one thing...

how do u think...if ur reading this...Mr bagchi

Ur rise to the top...any different frm others..

Even Pamela Andersson struggled...

If u want to emphasise..Education...

well i think it can be done....in a more proper way

Bt I feel every1 frm a small town... praises the importance of education in the same way

Of having nothing...to having every thing

Bt is that the only role of education:
1.
is it nt ur responsibility to do more than wat a rich man can do
2. U hav education...spread it...by actual work.. bcos u hav seen how poor people need to study...

The idea is ...u hav done it... u must make ur society rise

If that is nt the intention... then I can only say ur self indulgent

WTF

Alright. Subroto Bagchi is a big man now. He has co-founded a company. He is rich. He is successful. He has written books (I have read them all). AND he is from an ordinary background. Fine. Great.
But rediff, lets stop harping on these guys again and again. Let us not forget that considering the times that he lived in, there was a great majority who did not attend school at all, leave alone afford English medium education. So stop promoting such stuff inviting sympathy and pity and what not. Think of the many who are first generation learners who are doing pretty well for themselves though(although they may not have co-founded companies or written books).
There is no need to be awed by such examples. This is how it is supposed to happen when a generation awakens that wants to succeed. Bagchi belonged to that generation and the generations after that have benefitted from this way of thinking and living. I dont want to praise individuals. I appreciate the spirit of that generation and moreover, what that generation has done to their successors directly or indirectly.

Worried about Future of Engineering Students in India
by rr on Feb 04, 2010 11:16 AM

Gadgets and Machines, What our senses and Body can Enjoy and cherish pretty much invented and are in Day to Day use of mankind, Cost of Technology will have southwards trend so the cost of Engineers.

Now India is going to produce around 2 Crore Engineers in next 10 Years (Considering present capacity of 20 Lakhs per year), I am bit worried how tough or limited oppurtunities will they have to work and move forward.

Bravo Bagchi.....
by Anand on Feb 04, 2010 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

Someone said, the civilization never gets benefited from the herd.....It's the sweat of few off-beat people that turns things around. Surely, Subroto Bagchi belongs to this breed. I put him on par with all great saints aka Buddha, Swami Vivekananda for all the good he is doing to this country. He is a true Karma Yogi, indeed. At 38 years of biological age, I don't think I stand a chance to work with him directly or indirectly. But, every few mornings when I wake up from bed, his thoughts motivate me to try and "go kiss the world" !!!

Real education
by Gautam Mudbhatkal on Feb 04, 2010 11:01 AM

I thought the article talked about education as related to our scholastic curriculum. Real education is around everything - life in general, all round development including sports - not just IQ but EQ and so on

Quote from Mahatma Gandhi
by harish kulkarni on Feb 04, 2010 10:55 AM

i see this quote from Mahatma Gandhi in most of railway reservation counters and railway stations ... it goes like this
"I was complaining about not having shoes, until i saw a person with no legs"

just by following 10% of the spirit of above quote, we can sure be in different & superior league
