Online shopping still to evolve in india
by Kiran Kumar on Dec 23, 2010 09:31 PM

I would say Online shopping is still to evolve in india. Many people cheat a lot...they show something and send something....

The consumers also play with online options...they order something and when the courier comes, they say its not theirs etc etc. on top of all this, in many cases, the payment gateways dont work that well....so...way to go is what i would say...

On line shopping -worst experience wirh Ebay
by Neeraj Sharma on Dec 22, 2010 12:46 PM  | Hide replies

I had worst experience with ebay. 3 years back, I bid for a camera on ebay that cost 5000 and then they send the one which never worked. I made lot of correspondence with them but with no result. They just take your money and send you any rubbish thing and with billion plus population they can easily get new targets every day. Those who have their hard earned money never ever visit ebay for shopping. Rest lies with you.....

3 Years? Indian has changed a lot in 3 years , please wake up. ebay is very much safe now, and you money is safe too. You get cash back if you are not satisfied and the buyer gets banned, if he keeps selling fake products

Online shopping is a good option for certain items....
by Common Man on Dec 21, 2010 11:12 PM

Yes, online shopping is a good option for certain items like books, music, electronic items as many sites offer good discounts as well. Buying items which need to be chosen by touch and feel, such as apparel or jewellery should be avoided though. Also, accessing shopping site through secure PCs and availability of credit cards (though some sites allow using NetBanking A/cs as well) is a prerequisite. It is better to stick to popular websites and avoid experimenting on newly launched ones.

Indian shops are not mature still
by koolindian on Dec 21, 2010 06:08 PM

Indian shops are still not mature enough or trustworthy for online shopping. With their cheating mindset & no effective complaint resolving mechanism, online shopping will take very long time to catch up in India

boss....things will change...online shopping in developed countries means, you have to pay first online and then only they will dispatch the product....

i think they have done all such rules only because of people like you...

I have worst experience with Rediff Shopping, I have ordered Binocular and Rediff seller send me vaccum cleaner and when i complain they said I have to send them courier and then again they will replace. I have to pay courier charges and all and there is no time limit when I will get my product.

So Never BUY from REDIFF, EBAY is a better choice

You are right! With rediff, you always end up getting a wrong product. Other sites like bindaas bargain & home shop18 are far better & service oriented.

on line shopping

though the idea is good, some problems occur-
sizes can not be checked. all mfrs do not have standard sizes.
colours - many inform that available colours/ models will be sent.
i recd a mobile without manual. it is considered normal to send manual. on representation, i was told that manual was not included in the packing list. therefore, even the keyboard could be missing as it is never mentioned explicitely.
the online sites do not take any responsibility of resolving complaints.
many more drawbacks can be noticed.
so, use the facility with caution.
