Leave about the present languages. It is time to create a global language. After 2/3 generations everybody will communicate in the gloabal language and differences and regionalism and communalism will fade. We saw more wars,killings,violence due to various barriers among us, like Race, language, Religion, etc... It is time to stop these nonsense with Love, humanity... Religion is the first thing should be abolished. It is full of contradictions. Love hidden under hatred ( Krishna induced Arjuna to fight against Evil. Evil is not part of god? If Evil is there, tell me what is Evil? Is it universal for all? ), smartness overridden with Honesty, etc...
I am dealing with chinese companies for last 7-8 years and I never felt the need to learn their language.
The chinese have realised the importance of Enghlish and the present generation is very well conversed with English and there is no communication gap as such.
It might be necessary for people who might want to settle there.

my cousin is there with his family since past 3 years, well neither he nor his family speaks chinees... english is widely acepted there...

apart from chinese, japanese too should be introduced. what about introducing yet another european language (like spanish, french, german).... introduction of these languages should not stop with KVs and NV's .... these languages should be brought to thousands of moufussil towns of india ... may these languages may be introduced with affordable fees! at the same time, effors should be made to "sell" classical and vibrant languages like sanskrit, hindi and tamil.
Don't learn Mandarin, Make them learn Hindi , Tamil etc. I used to think German is a great language till I visited its neighbourhood - France and Italy.

"Make them"? Are you for real? No one is making us learn Mandarin. We are learning it on our own volition. We do so because it gives us a boost in the career. If you can convince the Chinese that they will benefit by learning Hindi/ Tamil, they will do so on their own. You won't have to "make them". Get it?

First make Hindi speakers learn Tamil and vice versa. No harm in learning any foreign language though.

Learning Chinese makes sense. The whole world takes China damn seriously. Also, everything you are using to type your messages has "Made in China" or "Made in Taiwan" on it.
