OK, but

Congrats to the boys.

However, I have a feeling that winning such sort of "academic" competitions is what makes us Indians somewhat hated, you know what I want to mean.

Better try to excel in industrialization, governance, quality of life, transparency, equality, and so on -- exactly those in which we are light years behind the leaders.

by that yard stick, Indian Muslims migrated to Pakistan after 1947 should also be considered Indians!

The yardstick used here is legality.

As per Singapore's legal system, Permanent Residents of Singapore are not citizens of Singapore.

As per Pakistan's legal system, Indian Muslims who emigrated to Pakistan are citizens of Pakistan.

Huge Inequalities In Wealth Distribution
by Balan Iyer on Dec 07, 2010 04:51 PM  | Hide replies

My Hearty Congrats to Sarabjit Singh more for choosing most apt topic very much applicable to India than winning the prize. The ruling coterie of India consisting of Big Businessmen and the Politicians, supported by the muscle power, do not believe in ruling the country;but
believe in swallowing the lion's share of the wealth of the country leaving more than 70% of
the population scrounging it out at grounds level. The imbalances in wealth distribution would persist unless the Greedy and Corrupt Politicians are dumped in the dustbin by a mature and understanding Public during the election.

Inequalities In Wealth Distribution is common phenomina throughout the world. This is called 80/20 rule(parreto analysis).i.e.80% of wealth is with 20% people. Most of our politicians make money and become useless when they put in swiss bank. When they die,in many cases their families could not be able to enjoy the money and become unclaimed.

'Innovative' 'tech' 'product' ???

How many Indians can really lay claim to such innovation ??

Oh ! Take away all the hype created by the Indian media about Indian 'achievements' in the tech field before deciding !

Don't worry. You have won nothing so clearly you must be doing very well indeed by not wasting your precious time. Do let us know what tech products you have innovated with your free time. After all you also deserve recognition.

by Dev on Dec 07, 2010 02:05 PM  | Hide replies

this is a true situation. the seasian countries now lead in internet speed and penetration.
china ofcourse with largest foreign reserves and trade balance figures.
other than buying luxury goods ,these seasian countries have ..decoupled..from west.

Can India ..EVER ..do this ? i dont think India will ..EVER..have positive trade balance. nor will its cities look good by next 50 years!
India is focusing ..not on its navel..but on its a*hole !
