but purely from a "looks" point of view, Carl Bruni, the French first lady, looked just like any other average, white, aged woman & a rather dried out / undernourished one at that. I wonder if anyone would have given her a second look, if she were not married to Sarkozy.
In all fairness all of the things I said about Carla Bruni, except for the woman part also applies to Sarkozy.
I think among women politicians, the earlier Premier of Ukraine looked good. Among the males I think Barack looks good.
Did I read above that Michelle obama as a main competitor? Or was that a typo. Bruni is way too chic, elegant feminine and niles niles ahead in the looks dept. Obama has broad shoulders and a weird shaped mouth, with teeth protruding. How one can call her a style icon is beyond me!! I am not being racist or anything..and i think that Beyonce,rihana,halle berry,zoe saldanha are stunners, but obama??? Puhleezz!!

I'm a typical successful, middle aged guy, pot bellied, receeding hairline, hirsute. But I was and continue to be sharp. So if I get off my back & do time at Princeton / Harvard, will I start looking like Robert Redford / Will Smith?

Nisha, I agree that woman's intelligence is very important in the marriage. But I think Sandeep is entitled to his opinion. Also, he is not being obscene. Lastly, before everyone starts criticizing me, I don't mean Carla is not intelligent. She comes across as a quite smart woman.

Its disappointing to see that there are people who put people on a pedestal because of their achievements in one field, and generally assume they are perfect in all other areas.
Beyonce as a hot singer or Halle Berry as a gorgeous artist, Michelle Obama as an intelligent woman sounds logical. But Beyonce & Halle Berry as icons of intelligence & Michelle Obama as a style icon, suggests their fans should "Go get some intelligence"

Partially makes sense. I'm okay with what Sandeep wrote as being his view and his vote for pretty Carla was not in question; and Nisha's point was to do with the extra thing that Sandeep wrote on 'Obama has broad shoulders and a weird shaped mouth, with teeth protruding.' I agree with her that this description was not sanguine. If this discussion was about Carla, why even bring in Michelle and thrash her based on looks ?!

Dude. There is no comparison between Michelle and Carla. Michelle is equally ( or more ) educated as Obama. She is also elegant in her own way - who can forget the First Lady dancing with a bunch of school-girls who were looking at her like in trance ? Michelle is graceful and a good speaker and outgoing. Carla is young and she may score in looks department. She has to do a lot more to merit comparison to Michelle.
Maybe, indians looked her visit as a model by profession or as a spouse of the president of a Nation, but over that all i saw "INSANIYAT" in her,in that respect i simply salute her.
Carla is not tht reputed lik mrs. obama.we can still read everyday in newspapers about her videos with her ex boyfriends..but she is spreading awareness about AIDS n so she is appreciable in this respect.
Carla bruni is spearheading campaign against HIV..She visited and met HIV patient in Delhi Hospital.
How many of our politicians do that...
France is enchanted by Indian culture ..let us therefore reciprocate and respect the vistors who are head of state of magnificient country called France
