castes are based on your work.It used to be like that in olden days.Times have changed now.We do have dalit priests.Brahmins are underprivileged priests in temples who live on bread crumbs.You can be a brahmin by working.No problem at all.
Its like you still are a christian even if you are black or white but blacks and whites dont go to temples.
By the way,what do you even mean by saying you want to be a brahmin.
YOU ARE A BRAHMIN BY DOING ANY ONE OF THESE...RELIGIOUS,DEATH AND FESTIVAL RITUALS.
