That's cool........i am an O & G Sales Professional myself, & trust me going on offshore platforms or Oil Rigs is an experience in itself & very Mesmerising.I have seen many SATdivers in saudia .......they work for a decade & then start something on their own in their countries. but this is truly not recommended to some one above 40 yrs of age. Be young get into it & move out at the right time . Thank's Rediff for this article .

there are many easy jobs in oil/gas even on onshores getting $2000/day. Inspecting radiation of tanks and soils in oil fields, much much easier than sat drivers. Indians are busy only in software, doctor, civil, mech and elect engineering. They dont look outside their indian eductaion. Indian are like frogs in well, go and out and see guys, world is much more beautiful than tendulkar and sharukh. rao from libya

In middle East , especially in Saudi it an pay you $1000 per day, all inclusive. But job is easier said than done, at one point of time i myself thought of doing it 3- 4 yrs back but pulled out after a good guidance from a diver. You should be a Lunatic/Mad man/Crazy etc etc to be in this profession. Mentally very very strong & as described by the writer of this article, most imp thing is you should have a passion for it & only then you will succeed. Money is a secondary or comes at last. Even being a software engg you can earn more if you are the best. $1000 is what above average divers earn , not every body. It's not a course of NIIT, that you get campus placements. don't take otherwise. i am giving you a honest advice , you may not like it but it;s true. be the best in what you are . Sky is the Limit .........
