There is more than meets the eye in this plan. First 52 hours hospitalisation do not qualify under Hospitalisation Cash Benefit. Besides Major Surgical Benefits have got various cappings. It is better to get a proper mediclaim cover from any company. LIC Health Protection is like a dietary supplement and not the real food. It is good as an add on. But it should not be taken as stand alone health policy.
I was continuing mediclaim policy for my family with New India Assurance Co.Ltd.at Cuttack since 2002. After coming back to Kolkata I am continuing the policy with their Kolkata Branch. But I am not getting any Bonus and free medical check up cost from their Kolkata branch on the plea that their Cuttack branch did not provide them the details of my earlier claim etc.
I think due to their negligency I can not be suffered. Please suggest where should I lodge complaint to solve this problem and how.

Dear Mr.Chakraborty, I think you should address this query to the Insurance Ombudsman, 29, N.S.Road, Kolkata - 700 001 (This is located in the North British Building also known as UTI Office in the BBD Bag Area of Kolkata).
Dont' suggest option only based on Premium outgo, there are n number of cases, where Pvt. Insurers ditch customers at the time of claim. You must provide details of available covers from all the companies including PSU companies. Dont be biased towards pvt insurers.
